Handmade Glass Tray Featuring Antique Dennison Halloween Border Panel
Circa 1920–1935
This tray features an original Dennison Manufacturing Co. crepe paper border panel, mounted and preserved beneath glass. The design showcases Dennison’s lighter, playful style: wide-eyed jack-o’-lanterns and lively Halloween imps in acrobatic poses.
Dennison’s border panels were ephemeral by nature — designed for temporary use as table runners, invitations, or party backdrops. Few survive in collectible condition, making this piece a charming and unusual preservation.
The panel has been carefully framed within a black wood surround, protected by glass, and equipped with iron metal side handles for practical use.
Dimensions: [16” x 16”]
Materials: Antique Dennison crepe paper, wood frame, glass, metal handles.
Provenance: Dennison Manufacturing Co., early 20th century.
As part of a broader collection of Dennison Halloween ephemera, this tray represents the company’s whimsical artistry — a contrast to its more dramatic witch and cat motifs. A rare and functional survival, it appeals equally to decorators, collectors, and enthusiasts of early American holiday design.
