Mackinac Island Paper Coastal hats

These hats are my ode to America’s historic seaside communities, maritime heritage, celebrating 250 years of Americas beloved water towns. They bring back the nostalgic Dennison paper party hats that delighted generations past. Each design begins with my original artwork and celebrates the lighthouses, beaches, gardens, harbors, sailing traditions, and coastal landmarks that make these places so special.

The Mackinac Island Collection

A Tribute to the Jewel of the Great Lakes

Nestled where Lakes Michigan and Huron meet, Mackinac Island has welcomed travelers for centuries with its natural beauty, Victorian charm, and rich maritime history. Long before automobiles, the island was an important gathering place for Native American peoples, French voyageurs, British soldiers, and American settlers who navigated the inland seas. Today, horse-drawn carriages, historic forts, grand hotels, picturesque harbors, and iconic lighthouses preserve the timeless spirit of this beloved island.

The collection celebrates Mackinac Island through handcrafted paper hats inspired by its historic architecture, sailing traditions, lilac-lined streets, and the sparkling waters of the Straits of Mackinac. Each design is lovingly created as an artistic keepsake—an ode to one of America’s most cherished island destinations, where history, craftsmanship, and Great Lakes maritime heritage continue to flourish.
