Paper Slippers, Glass Domes & Ephemera

Here you will find reproductions of antique German novelty and table decorations.  Once made in the late 1800’s, they were imported by the early department stores and sold for the holidays.  Very little have survived over the years, those that have are not in the best of shape.  German advertisements sent to the department store heads, show the variety that were made in large qualities.  They are a great resource for researchers and artists.  Slippers were made in a very rudimentary way as they were sold in expensively and made in large quantities.  They would be sold during the holidays for decorations at each table setting or hung on the Christmas tree with treats tucked under the front flap.
