Circa 1920s

One word — CHARMING! This rare Dennison Manufacturing Co. printed crepe tablecloth is a marvel of early 20th-century Halloween design. The composition is pure storybook magic: a beautifully designed witch with great colorful graphics. pilgrim hat and striped skirt pauses at a white picket fence, her patchwork shawl dotted with stars, while a mischievous palmer cox brownie rolls a pumpkin toward her wheelbarrow. The colors — deep orange, brick red, and mossy green — retain that unmistakable Dennison vibrancy even after more than a century. I love how the wood frame pulls out the brown in this gorgeous perfect condition crepe!! No holes or stains

Framed under glass in a rustic wood frame, this piece transforms ephemeral party décor into enduring folk art. Dennison, America’s premier maker of crepe paper goods, shaped the very look of Halloween through its imaginative holiday scenes and festive color palettes.
