Inspired by an American Tradition

 Inspired by the early American paper party hats made famous by the Dennison Manufacturing Company, the Victoria William Collection celebrates the artistry and joyful spirit of these beloved vintage novelties while honoring America’s rich coastal heritage.

Each hat is individually handcrafted using archival-quality materials and features original artwork inspired by historic lighthouses, maritime traditions, and cherished seaside destinations. Designed to become keepsakes for generations, they are both works of folk art and celebrations of 250 years of American coastal living.

Each hat measures approximately 14” wide × 10” tall and is available in two editions:

Option 1 – Collector’s Display Edition

• Fully illustrated front

• Coordinating partially illustrated reverse

• Finished with luxurious satin taffeta ribbons for hanging or display

Option 2 – Classic Honeycomb Edition

• Fully illustrated front and back

• Traditional honeycomb paper insert, allowing the hat to be worn in the style of the festive paper hats popular during the early 20th century

• Finished with luxurious satin taffeta ribbons

Shinnecock Lighthouse

First lit in 1858, Shinnecock Lighthouse was built to guide ships safely along Long Island’s south shore, where shifting sandbars and Atlantic storms made navigation especially hazardous. Its distinctive brick tower became an important beacon for merchant vessels, fishermen, and coastal travelers navigating these challenging waters.

Although the original lighthouse was lost to shoreline erosion in the early 20th century, its legacy lives on as a symbol of Long Island’s maritime history and the resilience of the communities that depended upon it. Today, the story of Shinnecock Lighthouse honors the lighthouse keepers, lifesaving crews, and generations of mariners who sailed America’s Atlantic coast.
